10 reasons to stay at the Aston Waikiki Beach hotel

1. The Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel is relatively quietly located at the beginning (or end, it depends on how you see it) of Waikiki Beach. Of course, it is never really quiet in such a large and lively city, but here the development ends and there is a park. To get to the beach, where by the way you can swim wonderfully because of the stone wall in the water, all you have to do is cross the road.
2. The airport is about 20 minutes away by car.
3. The Honululu Zoo is next to this hotel. You can walk there.
4. Diamond Head is a half-hour walk from the hotel. By car, you can get there in a few minutes. You can walk up the trail for a fee for a great view of Waikiki Beach and Honolulu. From our hotel room, we also had a nice view of Diamond Head. We were on the 19th floor, though. If you are lower, you are probably looking at another building.
5. Our favorite restaurant for breakfast is right around the corner: Dennys. And our favorite restaurant for dinner is a 10-minute walk through Honolulu's shopping district (where you'll encounter about 10 ABC Stores): The Cheesecake Factory.
6. There is a pool with sun beds at the hotel. Considering the size of the hotel, I find the pool rather small. It is also unfortunate that there is a restaurant next to it and that the reception is also by the pool.
7. The rooms have two fine beds. There are two high bar stools and a high table. You can't really sit comfortably on those. We did have a room overlooking Diamond Head, but no balcony. If you have an ocean view room, you do have a balcony. The rooms are not noisy. We had no noise pollution, even though we were near the elevator.
8. Unfortunately,  there are no nice seating areas. We still tried at the pool, but it closed at 10 pm. We were therefore sent away. In itself also good. Only it would be nice if you could sit somewhere else. But maybe all hotels in Waikiki are like that.
9. You get a can of water upon arrival that you can refill at the cold water tap.
10. At the front desk you can borrow beach chairs and umbrellas for free for when you go to the beach. And surfboards are also available for free for hotel guests.
